26 wind turbines were stolen from an offshore farm last night.
Police have appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen anything suspicious to get in touch.
One local who asked not to be named, said: ‘It was there yesterday.’
Police warned: ‘If you are offered a second hand 3MW, 130m rotary diameter turbine, (similar to the one pictured below), optimised for Class III winds, at a silly price there is a good chance it may be stolen property.”
Police said they are on lookout for the driver of a white, or possibly light green Transit van.
