Smellavision still some years away

TV makers have been forced to admit that they are no closer to inventing Smellavision but did announce they had a new name for it.

The admission is a blow for viewers of cookery shows.

But cooking show media analyst, Fleur Debonk said that even without an olfactory experience the popularity of watching other people cooking would continue.

The production company behind some of Britain’s most loved cooking programmes, including “what’s not in the fridge?”, “Cook up a storm in a teacup” and “FOOD DOOD” said that they are shocked at this revelation.

However that scriptwriters everywhere are reported to be relieved that phrases such as “if only you could smell this” and “trust me, this smells insane”, are safe for now.

Though it has not yet been revealed when or even if this is happening rumours are that ‘Telesmelt’ could be a feature of next generation 14k 4D TV technology.

But concerned viewers are already asking: “Is this going to be a red button feature or will it be forced upon us? What if I don’t want to smell what they’re cooking? What do I do then?”. “Is there a vegetarian option?”

Updates to follow.
