The search for alien life had a minor setback yesterday after scientists got excited but then realised the planet they thought resembled the Earth was in fact Earth.
“The telescope was pointing sidewards so we were looking at it from the wrong angle,” said space boffin Yuri Next, of the Large Telescope Observatory.
“You know the phenomenon where you see someone you know you know but the place is out of context and at first you don’t recognise them. It was similar. It happened to me the other day when my wife came into the shed. It was a bit of a shock because she never does that.”
